Just trying to weigh up if it if worth forking out for fitting an emerald and the vernier pulley’s to my exige.

I have learnt to drive around the 2000 rpm neutral throttle bunny hopping that occurs, and she is sometimes a bit temperamental idling when its it a particularly cold start.
Power wise though I am quite happy with what I have got. The question really is, will benefit the engine in the long term in terms of reliability/wear. Apart form the PRT and a 2bular back box the engine is completely standard.

The engines at 20k miles at the moment, hoping its going to hold out for a good while yet, just want to do all I can to keep it good as possible.

Cheers

Its like night and day with an emerald and verniers - totally transforms the car!!

the verniers on there own would make quite a difference. Is yours the 190 or 177 ECU?

What number Exige is it?

Its a 190 ECU, I think the number is 159.

Had it about 9 months now, its been 100% reliable since i have bought it (touch wood) but I have read so much about the fragile nature of these engines. Anything I can do to help the reliability & longevity of the engine I don’t mind stumping up the cash for. Just wondering if the better fuelling of the emerald would help matters in the long run.

I know its had a HGF in the past but I believe the work was just done by the previous owner not a garage, which is a little worrying. But its certainly goes ok and it had a recent service at a lotus specialist who seemed to think it all looked ok.
