Hi Chaps,

What do I need to take into consideration when fitting a VVC head to a non-vvc engine in an S2 Elise?

I'll be using an Emerald ECU, and the Piper VVC blanking kit and cams.

Is there anything else I'll need?

Thanks

Manual cam-belt and tensioner, VVC cam-belt backplate with a small mod to the cam-belt front-plate to allow bolt through to the front mounting spire, longer VVC coil packs, (coded red), small plate to blank the cam phase sensor.

If you are retaining the plastic plenum there may some difficulty with the port alignments.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply.

Can you supply all those parts, and if so how much will that lot cost?

Also, if I use the VVC inlet and 160 TB will it run the hydraulic bp285 cams ok? I'll have verniers too. They look like a similar profile to the Sport 160 cams.

In my view the BP285H cams are too hot for a plenum, if it were me I would use 1320 profiles. The engine will run on BP285H cams the idle and progression might not be all it could, you would also need Piper springs with them.

I don't think I have the coils or backplate in stock at the moment.

Dave
