It makes the V6 look huge!

But that's a nice blood line, long may it continue!

Would be nice to see a similar pic with all in the same colour, I think perspective is doing a great deal to make the S1 so small.

Which would Goldilocks choose? All three are 'just right' in different ways.

I thought I did well to get 2 out of 3 in the same colour! hehe

There is something timeless about the S1. Looks as good and relevant today as it ever did.

A decent honda powered example is surely one of the standout collectables/keepers of the last 20 years ?

V6 looks great though, as does the RGB or 2010 S2.

The collectable ones will be the standard cars, not the modified stuff. The modified cars are undoubtedly better to drive.

I always regretted not buying an S1 Exige when I could afford one as I love the looks, but when I drove one it disappointed and the S2 never really floated my boat (preferred the equivalent Elise models), but the V6 is an absolutely stunning bit of kit.

Before I ever got involved selling Loti I looked at changing my Caterham R400 for a yellow S1 Exige.

Back in 2001 I had an S1 exige on loan for 3 months whilst my 340r was being 'sorted'. Like you I found it a real disappointment. It felt stodgy, laboured and very slow in comparison. It needs that Honda.

Don't get me wrong, I think they're better Honda'd and with a Nitron or similar suspension setup, but in terms of a car for a collector as opposed to a driver it will be all about the stock standard cars. smile

I'd love to see a top down photo of these, much like this: (in this case comparing an S3 and SV Caterham)

great picture thumbup

maybe also nice if someone with some Photoshop skills can cut the Elise out and overlay? it on the Exige v6 in the exact hight of the frontwindow and mirrors, could be nice to see.

God that S1 is good looking!!! It shouldn't be as good looking as it is, but my god it is! Timeless classic. Styling wise S2 was a good effort, but S1 is the style icon IMO.

Agreed but a really special S2 Exige is in my all time top 5 good looking cars.

Silver Cup260 with warpaint deleted. Or Exige Scura. wink

It really doesn't get much better than that.
