I noticed the other day I had an offside dipped beam bulb out on my S1 Elise. Went to fit an H4 bulb today and it works again before i replace it! Thought I'd take her out for a spin and it wasn't working again. Took the rubber grommet out of the wheel arch to have a fiddle around and the bulb comes on and off depending on how I hold it. I also noticed that neither sidelight is working but if I touch the lead it comes on without them even switched on! A bit more fiddling and the dipped bulb dims to a faint glow and now the offside driving light is faintly glowing! What is going on?!! Electrics aren't my thing so I'm rather confused, thought it might be a corroded connector but this problem seems to affect 4 bulbs in total! Anyone experienced this before?

Dirty and/or corroded earth straps can cause the electrics to start playing up in weird ways.

Sounds exactly like an earthing issue, but i'd be inclined to check all the connections for corrosion, as mentioned..
