Having owned a TVR T350c and a Exige S2 (197), I was interested in what others think? I miss the feel from the Lotus steering but at 6feet4" it was a tight fit and as a aircraft fitter I think the TVR uses better bit's the Lotus was 6 moths old when I got it and things like the hubs, grill and anti roll bars had the start of corrosion plus I am a geek and do like cleaning the white chassis on the Tiv.

So, you have a TVR, think its better than the Lotus you had and thought you'd kindly pop over here and ask our opinion. You are not making a change, you are not deciding between the two cars for a purchase and quite frankly they are not two cars that you can really compare as they offer such different driving experiences.

Is this is poor trolling attempt?

Enjoy your car mate.

No I miss the exige a lot, I was just seeing if any one had the same thoughts? what they thought the good and bad points of the two cars different for each owner. The car's are not that far apart to put along side each other and look at

2 Seats
Both take up the same floor space in my garage
Both not really suited to every day cars (a lot will differ on that one) my every day drive is a LPG fes bomb.

Just looking to see if any one regretted the change or not, for what its worth I do not but do wish there was a way of taking the bits I love about both cars or may be some one has found the car with both???

the new Exige V6...
longer wheelbase, still great steering...
6 cillinders with 'enough' punch

so I guess such sort car could be seen as such?

I had a mixed feeling those days about missing a classic shaped TVR V8 but 'hated' the short torque range?
loved the way the 6 in line M cars (BMW M coupe Z3) had a fantastic torque range from low to high rpm but missed the V8 grunt biggrin

what to buy...
I bought a (one and only) Hartge Z3 coupe 5.0 V8 which has the nice (for me) classic lines and the V8 grunt and revving from low to high nicely liniair?

that car has both from what I was seeking those days, have the car now 6 years...
so I'm ready for a change for some time, just to drive something different for a while and then try to find another lovely car which have some 'soul' and give me a smile every mile when I drive it (not driving that much)

I will have to wait a bit for the Exige V6 to come down to a price were I can swoop, its porb a good call on the best of both worlds, and anther thing I have only done 700 miles this year in the Tiv due to weather being one but also due to have a new member of are clan so good call to on the BMW but I think a M5 estate would be best as I am sick of the "now you have a baby line the car sports car will have to go" line.

Evora's can you fit kid seats in them?

Owned both a s2 exige and a t350t.

Exige drove better, TVR had a lot more presence. If I could own either again it'd be the TVR.

Currently an exige for sae with 280bhp, plenty for road and track. Obviously 350bhp would be something else!

Please add more,
Bit harsh - the Lotus has a chassis that is still pretty unusual, and groundbreaking at the time. Compared to a load of scaffolding cobbled together in a shed, which will invariably go rusty and need a body-off restoration at some point...

You're right - the Elise/Exige items are shockingly bad too, but I'd rather spend a grand sorting out the niggles on a Lotus, and getting everything into tip-top condition (changing all the nuts/bolts for SS items, for instance) than sorting out major issues on a TVR.

Just sounds like you were more fond of the TVR to be honest, and fair enough. A 350bhp Honda'd Elise isn't going to give you a more bespoke interior still, so you'll still have the same issues.

I did a stainless steel bolt swap on my Exige along with a stage 3 exhaust which made the car for me. Now when I clean the TVR I also get underneath it with the WD-40 (aircraft spec) but I think I enjoy keeping on top of it, if I could have both I would have the main reason other than size was price I was watching my Exige price fall and the Tiv not it looked a better place for my money, but look at Exige S1's going up I rushed in getting the S2 any if I had got a S1 I prob would still have it.

Whenever I have looked at a TVR I always come away thinking that they are the only car company that make Lotii look like they are well put together, and that is saying something!

I think the next car on the shopping list will be a Audi R8 for the best of both. Having had both I think the later tvr's sag and t350 better made at a nut and bolt leave not turning this in to a my cars, better than your one. Do you think a R8 would be the best of both?

I tried one. Have you seen how wide they are? you couldn't drive one on our country lanes like a Lotus or a TVR (or a 911 for that matter).
