Elise S1 windscreen wiper

Had my MOT last week (the last time I'm getting it done in the winter), and got an advisory for the windscreen wiper being a bit crap. I know S1 wipers aren't great and some people have swapped them for S2 versions, but what's the current advice?

Does anyone know of a decent replacement wiper blade for the S1, or should I fit the S2 assembly? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Never had an S1 blade that doesn't just make a smeary mess at first. Expensive too and a pain to fit as the S1 arm doesn't lift up properly.

Plan on fitting an S2 arm when I order a few bits from Eliseparts to fit over winter.

I fitted a cheap Halfords wiper to my S1 - it just needed a rivet drilling out and it was a perfect fit. It's worked just fine for the last year or so.

I tried fitting the S2 arm but it fouled on the "bonnet".

Thanks, I'll try that first. I don't use the car in the rain so I just need something for the MOT (which I'll be re-doing in the summer so the annual renewal is more convenient), and the occasional wash/wipe to clean the screen.

I did the spray-bar mod. I bought the S2 wiper arm from Eliseparts and fitted the Champion X60W wiper blade that fits the Renault Espace. Add a bit of tubing and the job's a carrot!
