Hi all. This is my first time posting in this section.

I am looking at buying a Europa. Thing is, the bonnet, bumper and fenders were damaged in a slight swipe. The car still drives and mileage is low. I live in South Africa and was wondering if it will be expensive to bring the parts in from UK or other international source.

How are these cars to live with? How is the performance? And comfort?

Cheers

The later version of the Europa circa 2008?

If so it's as near to an Elise as you will find in SA (dont think there are any VX220's/speedsters out there?)

As for the parts issue, I can only imagine it will be an absolute nightmare (and v. expensive) to get them out there. Try SELOC.org.uk and Junks (on here I believe) for more info

Know of a fellow Europa owner who waited 5 months to get new clams in the UK. Can only imagine it would be MUCH harder to get them in SA
However they are fantastic cars - had mine 4 years and still a joy to drive. If the clams are repairable at a local body shop then go for it. If they need to be replaced it could be a long frustrating wait

took me 4 months to get a new rear clam. However I think Junks on Seloc can do much better now.

Again agree great car. Have had mine for 4 years now and can't bring myself to part with it.

good luck

They are indeed great cars! Thanks for the plug guys wink

I have actually got an undamaged original front clam & can get the other panels made if Lotus don't have them smile

Thanks for the great advice guysthumbup. I think the panels are past repairable, but I'm going to double check. If you guys say they are good to live with then I'm halfway sold on it.
