Has anyone had any experience with the bolt(s) which holds the engine cover onto an S1 Elise falling off? This has just happened to my car and the dealer says that as "nothing is broken" it is not covered under the year long warranty which came with the car. They advise that the rear clam shell needs to be removed to access the problem. Any advice would be appreciated (I have not given up on the warranty route but not sure of my position on this). Thanks.

All I know is that it's a right royal bugger to fix. Unless you know any slim oompah-loompahs who can get their tools under there [ooer], it is indeed a clam-off job.

I think the "not covered under warranty" is a bit harsh... downright stubborn in fact.
