Fresh battery in S2 key fob - any tips?

I recently opened up my key fob and showed my friend what type of battery was in there as I needed a replacement for my SPARE.
Of course this completely screwed with my locked car outside and I spent 40 minutes and some alarms later trying to get in. I was on the verge of calling the AA after trying all sorts of things but after having the battery out for a minute I managed to unlock the car!!
Anyway, I now have a new battery for my spare fob - is there anything I need to do or any precautions I should take before putting it in? I don't want it affecting my locked car out on my drive (again!)
