Just picked my exige up after getting the heater matrix and central locking system replaced at the dealer I bought it from. Got half way home and stopped for fuel. As I left the services after some lunch, the engine light was on and I cannot get rid of it.

The car was serviced in May and I've never seen the light on before. So it blows to happen as soon as I get it back after some work!

Some forums say check the fuel flap is shut properly... So this does tally with my fuel stop. But it looked shut and I've tried locking it several times but the light remains.

Do I need a code reader or to take to a dealer?

Does d/c the battery reset everything and potentially get rid of the light if the problem is solved?

05 exige, 45k miles

Appreciate any help

Well this is solved. I actually had to fill up again that day - and the light went off after I filled my tank. Perhaps I triggered something at the first fuel stop. The nozzle didn't go in very easily (no dodgy jokes please!!!!)

Anyway - maybe this will help someone else in the future..

The engine management light will go off after 4 re-starts IIRC. Expect a fault has been logged. Nothing to worry about unless the engine management light is flashing.
