I have to fix the latch (the interior door handle doesn't open the door), but am having trouble removing the screws for the interior trim. They are the crap plastic ones and are stripped - in fact there is another stripped screw holding on the aluminum window winder as well. Are they real screws or are they some sort of clip I have to guess how to remove? Or am I going to have to drill these out?

1996 S1, but has Alcantara door trim fitted replacing the original plastic.

With the plastic screws I find that using exactly the right sized screwdriver helps avoid damage to the head, and also sometimes holding the outer bit still in case it rotates. Occasionally I find it helps to put a knife tip in the crack between the screw and the outer bit and gently pull the screw while unscrewing it. But if you don't mind clearing up a bit of mess then drilling them out is easy, if the heads are already damaged.

You can buy a set of ally door card screws in a range of colours as replacements.

The window winder has to come off too, but there are several types of these so I'm not sure which bit you'd have to remove. Mine has 4 screws each side, and they all need to come out to get the winder off. Mine are 12.9 countersunk socket heads, and would be a bit more tricky to drill out.
