111s belt squeal and rattle

Hi! I'm in a remote spot in Italy (with wi-fi... and on the way down in my s2 111s yesterday I noticed an increasing rattle apparently emitting from the engine room behind the driver at certain revs. Today I noticed a belt squeal when down shifting, and the squeal now happens at idle too.... Any ideas over the potential severity of the problem? Perhaps important background info - have been on the track 3 times this year, and just before that, had the engine block removed, tested and refitted due to suspected HGF. The belt was changed at the same time.

I have just taken a look through the side air scoop and it looks as tho a bolt and nut holding the alternator in place have disappeared....the belt is pretty slack as a result. Would explain the initial rattle followed by the squeal. Wonder how likely it is that roadside help will be able to fix... ((( any thoughts on required bolt and nut sizes, and how stupid it will be for me to attempt the 500km trip back are most welcome....
