Love it...
respect for your work so-far and thanks for sharing
also very nice pictures and lay-outs.
there will always be purist, but gladly also some who dare to stand out and try something different, there are still enough "normal" S1's around.
I will follow this thread, nice to see.
Surely you're kidding. the proportions are horrible. the scale of the sills in particular offends, let alone when the have been painted in.respect for your work so-far and thanks for sharing

its not ready yet so can't say to much about the outside looks right now, but have seen some wide bodied elises/exiges on the web, and although not everybody's taste, some look good.
some S1 models can do with some extra to make them a bit more brute, best with an engine that comes with some extra too.

It's not really wide body though is it, it looks like a poor body kit.some S1 models can do with some extra to make them a bit more brute, best with an engine that comes with some extra too.
In my opinion this not an improvement or an advancement but hey, each to their own.

Scrambled just trying to get a rise out of me in retaliation for Frank pulling his car off the forum. Please take his comments with the bias that's intended. I designed the car very similarly after this Kobayashi S2, only for an S1. The lines are extremely similar, so if you hate this car's look, you probably won't like my design either... but as Scrambled says 'to each their own'.

Don't worry, everyone who's seen both threads can see that Scrambled is only trying to get a reaction out of you! Unfortunately, for him, you appear to be over the age of 12. Looking forward to the end result http://www.bodyshop-kobayashi.com/wide/wide_y_inde...

It's pretty apparent what their motives are, and doesn't bother me in the slightest. Some folks are on the forum because of their passion for cars, and their comments are focused on the cars (good or bad.. that's cool). But some are not here for the cars, but rather the personal attacks. It's unfortunate and a little sad. If they want to provoke reactions, they might do better at political forums?
Thanks for your comments. It's appreciated and I'll keep you posted!
So cut the crap Ken what was your motive to crap on my build thread to stroke your own ego with what, a show Lotus that will never see a canyon and yet your little ego needs to post quotes like "a ronin killer canyon car" ... Dude you are from North Malibu like I'm from Mars... You speak as though you are coming right out of Uranus. Thanks for your comments. It's appreciated and I'll keep you posted!

At the age of 12, I had a poster of an Esprit on my wall. Since then, I have always liked the purity of the Lotus aesthetics and bought an S1 a good few years back that I still own and cherish.. There is a place for pumped up Lotus aesthetics though, which I thought were well considered in the Reverie Exige S2.
That car took a pasting on here, to the point where the OP stopped posting. Hwever, in this case Reverie had only altered the form of the exige in certain areas, predominantly arches and wing.
Ronin's Exige also worked as a pumped up look, albeit there were parts I did not like; the rear wing and some of the mesh parts. However, it was still predominantly Lotus.
This S1 in my opinion and it is only my opinion, does look like it's had a chav body kit added and not been carefully considered. The sills I have already mentioned and the proportions on the rear clam are 'clunky' at best.
Instead of sugfesting i am 12, try responding to my comments and we'll have a discussion about this.

I have to agree with that, really, but it's a look a lot of people seem to appreciate. OP, you're mental in the very best way! Well done for going ahead with this.
Scrambled, you've said your opinion, there is no need for any debate, the OP is doing what he wants to do with his own car, if you want to add something useful then carry on but if youre just here to carry on some previous fight then F.R.O.

What is the difference between a wide body and a body kit? Genuine question as i always thought they were one and the same?In my opinion this not an improvement or an advancement but hey, each to their own.
never heard of that Lizardskin stuf...
sounds great
one (SC) more against noises etc and the other (SI) a bit more against heat etc
looks like a nice product

I meant to also add that options for the Elise are limited. They do make a body kit, but it is a conversion to an Exige... not necessarily a wide body conversion kit. (As I said previously, a true widebody widens the OE track... not just the fenders).
In my case, while opinions are subjective, I didn't want an Exige as I don't particularly love the way they look. I dislike the sloped rear clam, the lack of visibility, the flat rear end design, the way the rear clam integrates to the lower sill (looks like an after-thought), and mostly the confined cockpit feel introduced by the roof panel, but again that is personal taste. They also don't ship to the US., but would have not gone down that path even if they did.
I wanted a true widebody Elise, and that just does not exist. I did draw inspiration from various kits around the world (mainly Japan), but in the end this design is my vision... not a copy. I've no doubt this car will look fantastic, but at this point you still have to visualize pretty hard. It'll come together soon.
Some may not particularly like my design, but experienced artisans have to be able to accept criticism or you won't last long in the business. I say that because of my multimedia business. What I hope people take from this is an understanding of how it's done, and not so much a subjective assessment of my design (but that's ok).
Thanks,
Ken
Thanks for explaining it, i had never really thought, or reasearched the difference. Are you on SELOC yet? You might get different (although i can't promise it) reaction there.
Good luck with it all regardless, i hope it turns out how YOU want it!
