Hello

I have always wanted an Elise mainly the S2 model.

My main problem is im 22 years old living in Kent which means the insurance seems to be sky high. The average price that is estimated is £2200 per year.

My question is does anyone have any advice on an insurance company that may offer me a better deal.

Any help will be greatly appriciated.

CCI
Matthew Henderson

It would help if your last car was something sporty as well, I think they aren't keen on first time performance car drivers - I know they weren't cheapest when I traded up from a Smart car.

I'd also load up your voluntary excess and limit miles, if you can exclude commuting it will probably be cheaper too.

I believe joining SELOC gives you a discount with Adrian Flux also.

Good luck.

Good luck.

I'm with Henderson Taylor - same underwriter as CCI, Aviva, and my premium just went up £400+.

And I'm 31...

Was £400odd, no claims, this year's quote £760.

Be interested to hear who you go with and what you get it for.

Elephant were good for me, although I was a bit older when I bought mine.

£2200 sounds pretty reasonable to me though, to be honest.

Something to be a bit aware of, is that a number of insurers demand a tracker be installed on an Elise, which obviously effectively adds the tracker fees to any insurance quote that you get with such a company.

Cheers for the info.

I currently own a mazda mx5 mk1 1.8 which has 4 years no claims under admiral. i do not comute in the car and i have it insured for 8k miles per year. this comes to about £970 with protected no claims.

Looking at the lotus admiral seems to be closer to the £4000 mark but elephant is the cheapest at £2200. (the admiral quote is off the internet so it may be alot cheaper over the phone as a current client).

A-Plan

These have been competetive in the past for me.

Guys I know this may sound strange but CCI (Aviva) did not want to cover me for business travel so I was forced to seek out a new Insurer and what I thought was the most unlikeliest company to give me a sensible quote was........the Co-op decent cover cheaper than CCI and others.

REIS, Henderson Taylor and CCI are normally best for Elise quotes.

If you've had the Mazda for over a year that should help as a lot of these ask about your history of driving sports cars.

Elephant insured me at 23 for around £1,200 but that was 5-6 years ago now. I followed the age old trick of adding my Mum to the insurance which did help by a few hundred pounds at the time. Since then CCI have been untouchable, I'm down to £500 now and living in central London. Good luck.
