Mini glovebox in place of stereo?

Even in the most refined Elise I've owned (an S2 111S), the stereo isn't much use once you're on the move, and in my current modified and very noisy S1 it's a complete waste of time & space.
Now what would be really useful would be a box to fit in the same space in the dash to stop phone, wallet, shades etc. from sliding about.
Anyone seen something like this for sale as an aftermarket mod??
