Buy an Exige S or an N/A and retro fit SC or TC? Advice
Discussion
Having owned an 06 Exige a few years back I can honestly say its the best car I've ever owned. I'm looking at buying another Exige of a similar age but not sure if the factory S is worth the extra money or to buy the NA and consider an after market supercharger or turbo
I think I would save £4000 minimum in buying an NA and there seems to be a greater choice.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi m1inky.
I am on my 3rd Exige now after owning a n/a s2 then a s/c s2 I have now gone back to a n/a as I find it a better driving experience to suit my needs.
However, if my engine does let go for any reason I would be looking at either a Honda or Audi conversion as I think that is where the sensible money would go. £ for bhp if you catch my drift.
So, a £4000 saving would go towards the engine conversion if it was my decision.
But it's not. It's yours, and what do I know!!!

This is interesting. I have been thinking about supercharging my 111R. What was it about the SC that you didnt like? wouldnt want to spend all that money then regret it.I think I would save £4000 minimum in buying an NA and there seems to be a greater choice.

The Exige S is the best car I have ever owned, and I've been fortunate enough to have a few. I have driven an NA and for me there is no comparison, so much more torque from the SC. I just wondered how that compared to an aftermarket conversion. However thanks partly to the advice above, yesterday I put a deposit on a beautiful low mileage S with great spec in gleaming dog cock red :-) I feel like a kid at Christmas already!
I had an aftermarket supercharger conversion on my n/a Exige (Katana) and it really is the best thing I ever did. The car is transformed and I firmly believe all Exiges should have left the factory with a supercharger! I have driven a standard S (220) and the aftermarket kit feels quite a bit quicker tbh.
Financially, a factory S is the better option in terms of resale value. For me, this was never a consideration, I simply wanted to improve a car I was already in love with
Either way, hope you enjoy yours
