I've read some of the buying guides but if anyone has any other advice it will be gratefully received!

Depends how soon and where it is really.

I sold my CSL yesterday so I'm car-less at the moment!

Message me the details if you prefer.

Looks nice from the pics but it is expensive imo.

Big gap in the service history unfortunately, previous owner did his own servicing apparently but no receipts or anything to support this. Last stamp in the book was 2007!

It hasn't had a HG or any suspension work either and the mileage is getting on for where it'll need suspension at least.

Nice chap, and he'll take £11k as the price is a bit ambitious, but it wasn't the one for me.

Cheers!

After a CSL you'll find a boggo engined Elise a tad slow. My only advice would go for one with a bit more *go*.

Agreed I thought R to Z4M was a huge jump in power so would feel a need for a Exige S if I came back to Lotus

At the risk of being booted out of the forum I actually put a deposit down on the car I saw in the afternoon - a 240BHP VX220 Turbo smile

I would love to try the more powerful versions of the Elise but they are far outside the budget I had set for myself.

Having said that, I thought that even a 118BHP Elise was a hoot and I wouldn't have minded (initially at least perhaps) the relative lack of power. The reason I went for this particular VX is that it felt practically brand new and was a relative bargain. Not as pretty though but certainly purposeful.

Cheers!

Its got the power, its no doubt cheaper, but you'll always have that nagging doubt that you should have bought the Lotusbiggrin

Not the one I looked at frown

With a higher budget to get an SC or similar I think the Lotus would win hands down but at this budget the VX is a better proposition.

I'm picking it up later today and it's pouring down with rain which is marvelous!
