My (new to me) '06 111r was bought about a month ago and during the test drive it was blowing cold air.

Now, the fan works and the heater blows all as normal but when I press the air con button the light comes on but I sense no dip of the revs or cold air frown

I realise it can be temperamental but I really want this all working ready for a euro trip this summer. Might it just need re-gassing?

Thank you.

Had mine regassed twice in 6 months, looses gas after about 2 weeks, they cannot find any leaks, but suspect pipes down sill, which is a pain in the ass by all accounts. There appears to be a service bulliten from lotus about, but cannot find any info on it. Looks like the air con will have to stay inop for the time being.
TADTS comes to mind on this one

You wont notice it changing revs or anything.

Id go for a regas, mine was doing this (2006 111r) working fine now after gassing.

I had the gas mixed with a UV ink so we could see any leaks. 2 years after nothing is apparent. I think some gas loss is to be expected in my experience.

The pipes in the sill were rubber coated aluminium and will corrode in much the same way as happened in the early cars with the rubber floor mats. The service note was to change them for piping which won't do this.

If this is happened a regas won't fix it as it'll just leak out again and as the pipes are in the sills it's quite a lot of hassle to fix it.
