Well after numerous test drives and countless sleepless nights I've opted for a Lotus 2-11, we thought long and hard about a new Elise S, Exige S and an Evora but ruled out the Elise S/Exige S because of cost we have other cars and it doesn't make sense for us to spend over 35k on a Toy this also led to us ruling out the Evora, we have a nice new Bmw so what's the point of another GT car. 2-11 is a special car and will be used for track days, runs as well as the odd meet which is all I have time for anyway I don't use a Car everyday as I work in London. It's build number No. 16 & here's the specification :
• Black/ Yellow /Leather
• 260PS Supercharger Pack incl' Up rated Fuel Pump, Rear mounted air/ air Intercooler with Ducted Entry
• Motorsport Clutch Assembly, Twin Oil Coolers, Remapped ECU
• UK SVA Pack. SVA Test Certificate
• Front Splitter, SVA Compliant GRP Rear Wing, Full Harnesses
• Motorsport Alloy Wheels
• Passenger Seat, Variable Slip Traction Control, Launch Control, Battery Cut-off Switch, Fire Extinguisher
Boggy
I'll post pictures Once I've cleaned it properly, picking up Saturday

Did you only consider the Lotus options, or did you compare it to X-BOWs and Atoms etc?
Looked at an Atom but X-bow is very ugly IMO, I wanted a Lotus really which was the main reason I went for the 2 11 in the end., Atom felt very planted and similar to the 2 11 on the road but it's not a Lotus and I feel the 2 11 can be used slightly more on the road than the Atom. Nothing bad to say about it other than it's not a Lotus it did not quite feel like I expected either. I would not drive the Atom without a helmet full stop where's the 211 can be used with Sun Glasses and a Hat Atom to is more exposed, did not turn it as quick either also felt a little too rigid depends what you want from the Car

There's a no realistic difference Boggy - drive either without a helmet and you risk a stone in the face/head. And you need Wileys or ski goggles at the very least - glasses need to be shatterproof and have some sort of mechanism for keeping dust and grit out of your eyes.Boggy
Agree if you're driving lot's of miles and of course I would not recommend anyone drive without a helmet but I'm happy to drive locally with sun's, I felt the Atom was more exposed but will admit the power delivery was very smooth up to the buyer at the end of the day. The 2 11 has a more enclosed feel too you have One Stephanie so you have a good idea. I've seen you're track days on Seloc (evening) I'll pop along. Want to upgrade a couple of bits and change/freshen the car up so I'll have a good think. Like the bigger spoiler on the trophy cars, quick release steering wheel and a few other bits, its more than quick enough so that will be left alone

It's always a risk but you'll be fine with sunglasses, I've done a few thousand miles in the UK and Europe with mainly Oakley half jackets. Interchangable lenses are good as you still need the protection if it gets really cloudy or dark. Helmet defo required if it rains... Boggy
Only issues I've had are a bee (hurts at NSL +10%), truck full of hay in France (had about 5 miles of being hit by hay stalks on the Autoroute before overtaking it!) and a gritter lorry! eek!
You are much more enclsed than an Atom (if it rains in one of those you will get soaked head to toe!), one tip is to temporarily seal or tape up the inside of the panel gap between the front clam and the bodysides. Without this rain is directed straight onto your right knee.
Heated jacket and gloves make things pleasent in the winter.
Also I'm pretty tall so use a clip on motorbike screen which cuts out 75% of the wind noise and buffeting (you'll probably be OK if under 6ft).
Cheers,
Ali
