See the split rubber ring? Obviously needs replacing. What's the part name please so I can order a new one.

Thanks. Nick.

I think that's the Track Rod End?
Part number is the same for K-series and Toyota S2's - A117H0009F

Thanks chaps. Is this a straight off with the old and on with the new? Meaning can I do it with moderate technical skills or is there adjustment required when fitting the new?

Oh, and I may as well replace both at the same time?

if you measure how much thread is showing on the old one then when you replace it with the new one it will get you somewhere in the ball park of the previous setup, but you will need a geometry setup after changing both track rod ends.

you will also need a ball joint splitter too to get it off the steering arm.

I saw that on Elise parts thank you. So otherwise this is not too big a job for the weekend mechanic?

ETA: Might I as well do both sides assuming they are of equal age? it's an '06 car.

Oh gawd. I'm actually pretty game, but all I have is a semi decent Halfords tool kit and very little experience under the wheel arches/bonnet. Never changed plugs, pads etc myself although I do find it satisfying to have a go. Would hate for anything to fall off during the post drive wink

I'm pretty practical otherwise. Able to fit a bathroom for example so I'm sure I could do it.

Are there any step by step guides at hand to look at all of this?
