Just to give you some food for thought, during my VX220 ownership i was eating rear tyres at an alarming rate, i kept on replacing with the manufacturer recommended Bridgestone RE040 (special tyre just for the VX i think) that cost £££'S, i decided to try some different tyres, so decided on the Avon ZV3, pretty much the same as ZZ3 and they totally ruined the handling characteristics of the car. I was gobsmacked at how rubbish they were.

Avon ZV3 on rears:

With my Exige I will only be fitting the genuine recommended Yokohama AO48 LTS semi slicks, even if they do cost £££'s

A048's are semi slick, probably not a good idea if your car is a daily driver as youve stated!

There was a tread last year where road tyres were discussed. Fell into 2 groups

1 I'm going to use lotus sticky tyres come what may, (cause i'm a track warrior driving on the road).
2 Lotus sticky tyres are a waste of money for the road and sometimes frecking hopeless.

tyres clicky

I have the Falken Xien ZE912 in exige sizes on standard elise rims and am happy with them. Especially when the weather gets a bit dodge. Hitting standing water in the AD07's is bad enough with 48's/888's its bloody scary, ask my undies!

If you are going to do some track days then the AD07's are probably the best compromise, if only having one set of rims and tyres. If not then they may not be worth the extra cost.
