Looking at a new steering rack for the elise, probably going with a titan quick rack. My only question is that all the new racks seem to come with the nylon cups fitted. Are the bronze ones worth opening up a new rack for and is there any downsides to the bronze cups?

put it this way, I always fit them as a matter of course even on new racks, can't be arsed with pulling a rack back out again when they inevitably break.

For those interested titan will now build you a rack and install the bronze cups. You will have to source the cups yourself as they don't make or stock them. The price for a quick rack is £322 plus vat and shipping.

I got a new rack fitted to my S1 with grand intentions to refurb the old one. As it only had a small amount of play on one side, not enough to fail an MOT, I thought I'd be able to get the cups and refurb it myself. Then I remembered my patience/ability. Mines the one on ebay then...rolleyes
