You're not happy with your recent wrap?

I'm very happy with it, I just fancy a change ... http://tinyurl.com/lotus-elise-s1-stealth

The reason I had it wrapped was for that very reason! I tend to change cars every 2 years and I've just sold my TVR so I've done the crazy machine and 'on rails' go kart. Boxster appeals, as does a TT.

I fully understand-if you have done the TVR type and you have done the Lotus type, and you change cars every couple of years and like to get a taste of everything, it makes sense to get a Porsche. When you want to combine performance with some practicality go for an M3 and when you need absolute reliability go for a Japanese sports car (avoid RX 8, go for S2000)...and this will only leave the Evo/Scooby category...you can skip the Italian stuff, they are a nightmare. Having done most of the aforementioned I am about to have my go in a Europa soon, to do the "Lotus thing"...oh and don't forget to do the hot hatch period perhaps with a Type R or Clio...everything just needs to be done if you are a curious, explorative enthusiast and not stuck on one brand or one type of performance car. Avoid the TT, it will totally underwhelm you after the Lotus.

Mmm... not quite. There's little doubt that it will be very different to the Lotus... but isn't that kinda what the OP is looking for..?

With the exception of the SLK, I have never driven anything that promises so much look-wise and delivers so little in terms of driving pleasure as the TT...it will be a really tough transition. I think even the TT S is miles behind a Boxster as a driver's car. But as we all say...drive it first!

+1

I owned a TT 225 for just 9 months, I sold it for £4000 less in that time.

Agreed on the TT..test drove two extensively after looking for something more practical and fuel efficient than the Elise S2 as my daily driver given that I was to go from doing 3000 miles PA to 15000 due to job change. TT was totally underwhelming....so I ended up with a Lotus Evora instead. Incidentally, I never found it a problem selling the Elise in December, despite it being commonly held that spring/ summer is the best time to.
