Specialist insurance?



Hi all,

I'm new to the site and to Lotus ownership. I've just done a deal on an S1 Elise and now need to sort out Insurance.

It's a standard year 2000 'X' reg.,118 bhp motor with the normal upgrades of sports exhaust and induction kit.

It will be used as a second car at weekends and probably the odd trackday.
I'm after advice on the best insurance Companies to speak to and does classic insurance policies cover this type of vehicle.

I cannot see it doing more than 5k to 7k miles per year so am quite happy to limit the mileage on the policy if it greatly reduces the premium.

I recommend CCI (Competition Car Insurance).

Their quotes are competitive, and you get track day cover included. (6 days if the policy is for a Lotus)

They are also VERY good to deal with.

I have 2 cars with Henderson Taylor, both have 5k limits and 6 free trackdays. They also accumalate NCB which some specialist policies don't. Also, they mirrored the NCB I had on another car to start with!
