Hi all - can someone tell me how wide the decal is that sits here, its been removed since my car was wrapped in the matte black and I want to get it spot on - I'm getting a die cut decal made of the original crest. I'm considering either black (gloss), red (like the interior) yellow (centre of wheels, front badge) or gold (might be cool?)

Thanks in advance all.

The S1 never had a decal there. Some of the S2s had a crest there, some sort of royal award crest or summink.

yes My type-25 has a funny little crown there on one side, but I don't remember seeing anything on an S1?

I had an S2 that had it. It's the Queen's Award for Enterprise. Was awarded to Lotus for something.

Wow, you're quite right, the S1 didn't have it. I dug out a pic of mine before the wrap, shown. I guess the previous owner must have put it on. What is that decal called? Its the initials of Mr Chapman in a wee circle.

Well, that's just a copy of the Lotus badge, same as on the nose and else where. I've never seen that big decal used before. I guess the previous owner must have had a touch of OCD and wanted to balance it up with the fuel filler on the other side.
Personally I'd just leave the decal off. Looks better without it (like every other S1).

I'd leave it off. Adding extra badges always seems a bit like you're trying too hard.
