Hi all - what do you think? It'll be completed tomorrow. Its got a rear under chassis diffuser which is being wrapped in a carbon fibre effect, the rest is the matte black as you can see. It'll have a gloss stripe up the front, over the top (hard top) and down the back.

Just the exterior being wrapped, the interior and door shuts will still be red - for now.

Though not an Exige, I'm trying to replicate the 'stealth' look for an Elise, not trying to pretend its an Exige I promise!

In time, I'll get a front splitter, maybe a rear spoiler and air intake covers.

I'm hoping it'll put value on the car - what do people think? When its complete, I'll upload the photo.

Thanks for your input all.

Not my cup of tea at all, however, it's what makes you happy after all. It's something about the scale of the black and red proportions that do not work for me. I suppose also that I do not see matt wraps as particularly appropriate for an S1 Elise but if we all liked the same thing it would be a dull world.

Won't it make the car heavier?

Personal opinion - a value drop.
I'm failing to see any 'stealth'....Maybe if the stripe was matt silver/gunmetal...maybe...Just an opinion mind...as above if you like it, fill your boots.... I just wish I had a n Elsie to play with in the first place!

I feel quite sorry for the OP now. This is not going to go to well after that image.

ETA _ that image is only one step removed from being a gimp mask really.

Hate to sound negative but I very much doubt it will add value, it will however reduce the quantity of potential buyers if you were looking to sell.

Here's what it *might* look like if you wanted to photoshop a stripe on it... this is a bit more satin than black...

I like that!

I'm not sure it will ADD value, but it won't detract either. Just enjoy it for being different smile

Was going to say, I don't think it was suggested that was going to be the finished article with all the red on show, then OP confirmed!.

Haha, nice!

Well it wont have any red on the outside, it'll be completely black matte with a gloss stripe up the front.

It'll look like this ...

Lets see how it looks tomorrow . . . . .

Ahhhhhh, now I understand _ you were being a bit economic with the information. Will pass comment once finished then.

If I was looking at a vinyl wrapped car I'd be worried about the condition of the paint and bodywork underneath....

I'm not quite understanding, are you going to do the whole thing black like the exile, with a gloss black stripe up the centre and cover up all the red? If so I think it will look cool. I'm not in to the red with black, too shocking in my opinion but each to their own.

I love the satin Elise, subtle but a strong look.

I sort of understand but let's face it its just glass clams - unlikely they'll rot away.

Could be hiding poor quality paint and spider cracks though.

Not saying it is in this case, just if I was looking at a car to buy I'd wonder WHY it had been vinyl wrapped.
