Looked at the car this morning to see a number plate hanging off on one side. I havent driven it for a few days and have only driven it 3 times total since i bought it

The screw that holds it in place is still in the number plate. I tried to push it back in but its pops out and a bit of the fibreglass has come away so the whole is now too big for the screw.

Any ideas on the best way to re-attach it?

Although I just use velcro pads, makes it easy to remove the plate for track days.

Did you just glue some velcro pads to the place where the numberplate normally goes?

Whats annoyed me is, its taken a chunk out of the fibreglass frown

The pads I use are sticky backed, so I just put them on the numberplate and clamshell. The little plinths are a better solution though if you don't mind drilling the underside of the clam.

I recently ‘lost’ my rear plate which was stuck on with sticky-pads so now it’s screwed into place – but I had parked for a couple of minutes in a questionable area so it may have been liberated…

Ditch the screws.

Get a 3/4 plate from fancy plates and velcro it on the front. You can get the pads from Halfords
