Lotus to GT2/3

Guys,

Has anyone gone from an Elise/Exige to Porsche GT2/3. I've had a number of Porsches and bought the S2 Exige on a bit of a whim. I've loved the simplicity of it and the massive step down in running costs but have recently been looking at 996 GT2/3s.

Whilst excited about this I couldn't help wondering if I was doing the right thing as I parked my trusy Exige outside the Porsche indi this afternoon. I've really come to love the placid if slightly harsh nature of the Exige and the fact all the power can be used with confidence almost all of the time.

To be fair on the drive home, the glasses were less rose tinted and I could see quite how accomplished the GT cars really are, but I'd be keen to hear +ve /-ve's from anyone who has made the move.

Drive the two over the same route one immediately after the other. You will know then which suits you best. If you still dont know then sit on your wallet and try some other make.

You dont want to talk yourself into a change based on someone else's opinions.

For better or for worse I've bought the GT2. Very nice car and a rare opportunity.

I've loved the Exige though - likely to have another but probably blown next time.

Congrats on the GT2 fella, they are ridiculously quick!

I followed your thread in the Pork section as the 6'GT3RS is what I want to move onto after my Exige with the same focus on road driving as yourself.
