Think the alarm is called that, or 6442 or something. ANyway, manual says you have to have the alarm deactivated and mobilised or something, which presumably means having the ignition on, but not the engine before I start messing about the finger key thing and holding fob buttons down together, is that right?

Only one of my keys has stopped working, but am I right in thinking I need to program both keys, because it will reprogramme them both?

Is anyone aware of any problems doing this? I would hate for my one working key to stop working as a result of messing around...

FWIW the reprogramming 'stick' that came with my old S1 seemed to do nothing at all.

I can't remember the details of the procedure to follow I'm afraid. I'm sure I did follow it though!

Hey,

As I understand from other posts on this forum, you just need to ' mate' the new, unusable fob to the car. The one thats already working will not need programming nor will be swiped from the car's memory. However, do a search on this forum or Seloc before continuing. It seems to be a bit of a b*%^tch to get it right, so be prepared to invest time.

BTW were did you get a spare fob? I found the original Cobra site, however they are horribly expensive. Some 180 pounds I believe? Or is there any cheaper option? I also have only 1 fob you see...

I have always had 2 fobs, only one of them has stopped working, replaced battery but it still doesn't work, so I think it has 'lost its memory'. I will make sure the car is parked up for the winter before I try it!
