I'm about to order a Euro Exit 2bular exhaust for my katana'd Exige as I have always preferred the slightly more aggressive look and think it will nicely tidy up the rear of the car. I've gone for the 8" which is the quieter version of what is reputedly quite a noisy system.

My dilemma comes with the cat. I cannot decide between a 200 cell sports cat and a 100 cell race version. Jim assures me that both units will pass an MOT but, has warned me that the 100 cell cat is pretty loud and I may struggle to meet some trackday regulations (not a priority for me). I would imagine the power difference will not be apparent from the drivers seat so the choice comes down to noise and character.

I would very much like an exhaust which pops and bangs and has as much character as possible without necessarily making small children cry through sheer volume!

Does anyone here have this set up or have experience of the difference between the two cats? I realise noise is a very subjective thing but, hearing some first hand experiences would help enormously with my decision.

200 cell deffo for track ..
Get Jim to do you a decat pipe at the same time for when you fancy some pops and bangs ...
With v band fittings and a rear panel eliminator swapping is easy ..
I think you,d regret a noisy cat that prevents track use .

That actually makes alot of sense. Probably better to order something that may not be quite as loud as I wanted, with the option to make it louder than to order something which feels too loud from the outset. With the bonus of still being able to meet trackday requirements.

Even without v bands, it wouldn't be a big job for the garage to swap them over occasionally if I felt the urge..

So, 8" silencers and a 200 cell cat it is then smile

ETA: Order placed biggrin

Thought I'd post up a picture of the exhaust now it has finally been fitted. I much prefer the look of the twin exit pipes - very, very pleased with the result biggrin

Soundwise, the volume is very similar to my old exhaust (also a 2bular - 7" x 18") and it is a bit more 'boomy' which I like. A few pops and burbles this morning in the cold but, for the mostpart, quite refined. Will probably pop the decat on next year to see if I like the soundtrack but, very happy with it has it is for now.

Not a single comment in over 24 hours, really?! Wow, this forum really has ground to a halt....come on chaps, I'm interested to know what you lot think. We are supposed to be enthusiasts after all.

Perhaps I should start a new thread entitled "Check out my rear end" smile

Looks good. I did think it was an Elise 111s with an Exige rear clam when I first saw it. Doesn't look any tidier than the normal imo.

I had a 111s before and loved the look of the exhaust, which I always thought the Exige was missing, hence the mod.

Tidied up was probably the wrong way of putting it...hugely improved is what I meant smile. I think it suits the car perfectly and makes the car seem wider somehow.
