0-60 early elise s1 vs early exige s1

I know these cars are about the corners etc. etc. but I noticed (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) that a one 'Mr Alastair Clements' in his '09 book 'Lotus Elise' quotes identical 0-60 times at 5.6 seconds... could this possibly be true?!? Any personal experiences in both cars you'd like to share?

Exige is a fair bit quicker than that. Factory time for an Exige is supposedly 4.6 seconds. Mine used to do 5.2 seconds with a badly slipping clutch and about 170 genuine horsepower. It was still a lot quicker to 60 than a stock Elise S1.

Factory times are blatant lies.
I would look at actual magazine tests.

5.8 For an Elise S1 stock.
