Hi, I'm the happy new owner of a LHD Lotus 340R. The car has driven less than 400 miles since new... in other words a "new" car made in 2000... But - getting roadsigns on it in Norway is a challenge; very few have seen this model in my country..
Anyone out there knowing where on the car Lotus has put what we in Norway call the "fabrication plate" ? It's a little sticker with info about which regulations the car is produced according to, weight etc.

Very happy for any advice !

I'm pretty sure there isn't one and I've owned my car for 6 years now. The chassis ID plate is just in front of the righthand rear wheel but I think that's the only plate apart from the chassis number badge on the lefthand sill.

Hello again, checked today - the sticker with chassis no., weight etc was placed under the left hand side access panel - exactly like the DeRoure link you sent me said. Thanks again - very grateful !!

No problem - the deroure site is very useful if you haven't got a hard copy of the parts catalogue.

Have you joined the 340R Owners group on Yahoo? There are quite a few of the UK owners on there and it a useful point of reference if you have any queries about the car. You can usually get most questions answered on there.

Cheers

400 miles???
Jeez. I'm sure you've got a lot of things needing replaced.
Don't want to be negative but I'm just thinking:

Tyres
Internal engine corrosion
Bushes and seals
Suspension

Congrats on your purchase!

Here's a top tip from a fellow 340R owner...

Join up with the main 340R owners forum (It seems that most 340R owners are on here).
Loads of info and help here and there are group buys organised within the group as well.

Thanks a lot for all good advice. The car is build no. 273. I bought it from the former Norwegian Lotus dealer Pitlane AS. As soon as the car is registered for the road, I will get a friend of mine - probably Norways best mechanic regarding Lotus & Caterham to take a complete check of the car.

My other top advice is to replace the original horrible cheap vac formed centre tunnel with a nice carbon fibre one from Reverie
(The owner of the company was on the original development team for the 340R).

As you can see they make all sorts of other carbon goodies for the 340R but you will need deep pockets!

Thanks. Very interesting... Will have to do an upgrade according to the depth of the pocket, though..
