Hi,
I have purchased a lotus 225 ECU and I thought this would be just a straight swap over, 4 bolts and 2 connectors. But I was wrong!

Fitting the new ECU, the engine will crank but not fire. Put the orginal ECU back in and all is fine.

Is this something to do with the alarm / security? Help!

Thanks.
Paul.

Worth giving junks a shout (on here and on SELOC) he should be able to help.

I thought it was a straight swap also after speaking to junks on SELOC ?

Have you also changed the spark plugs that are required for the 225?

If fitting a new ECM to a Europa, it needs to be locked to the car in order for the immobiliser to work correctly. It wont start unless this Locking procedure and set up is done with the scan tool.

If I remember correctly, fitting a used ECM from another car will not work even if you have the correct scan tool. Dont quote me on that though.

The spark plugs will not stop it from starting.
