Trackday at Rockingham at the Weekend and with the brakes hot had a really starnge problem. Approaching Tarzan from Gracelands the brake pedal felt very hard and I was getting some tyre squeal from the O/S front but braking was poor. Pushing really hard it felt like the pedal was suddenly going through an obstruction then the brakes acted normally. Dabbing briefly in case the pads had moved in the calipers had no effect. This problem happened pretty well every lap with the brakes hot but only on this corner - everywhere else and on the way home all was normal. The car has standard brakes and has only done 12k miles with 2 or 3 trackdays a year. I'm baffled - any ideas??
BTW - Rockingham trackday - what a blast. Only a dozen cars there on Sunday and if you've not driven on an oval (we were using Turn 1 as part of the circuit) its very exilerating. TRy it before it gets crowded! Apparently you can take Turn 1 flat in in an Elise - if someone has done it in a 111R on standard Bridgestone rubber let me know and I might be tempted next time!

Not really. You are coming out of a prolonged series of left handers without fully straightening, then you have a short straight up to the braking zone with just a touch of right lock before you hit the brakes. I made a point of avoiding Kerbs on the way in and it didn't seem to make any difference - very strange!
