Exige novice, here looking for a few answers please:

Wonder what (if any) power increase a stage 3 Lotus exhaust would make to a standard "S"?
How do they extract the extra power (240 and 260 BHP) over the standard 220 of the S? And is it cost effective to do that with a standard car?
What are the difference between the various "packs" and are there any spec's/packs which are re-sale no no's?

thanks in anticipation!!

Speak to Christopher Neil's.

They offer a 220-260 upgrade using Lotus parts for a very reasonable price, around 2k iirc.

Different injectors, higher rate fuel pump, ECU re-map and a new airbox take the 220 to 260 iirc. Cost is around 2k from Chris Neils and it is all Lotus original parts.

Add a Forge intercooler and I am told it goes north of 270.

To get more than 270 most fit a 4.1 manifold , a smaller supercharger pulley for more boost , better intercooler cooling or chargecooler and a further remap ...
300 bhp is common thesedays ..
One or two run 330 on standard internals with no problems ..

Ps. The 220 and 240 ecu,s need a reflash because the throttle does not fully open on them... The 260 opens fully ..

I run 310 bhp on a standard 260 Lotus ecu with no mapping

Anybody know whether standard brakes and suspension are up to lots of track days?

brakes themselves are okay but you will want better pads and possibly fluid. Standard suspension is fine to start with but can be greatly improved on.

Wot he said as a start, although braided brake lines will also help with pedal feel on track as well, as the standard ones will expand when they get hot.

On higher powered cars you'll start to eat the OE discs pretty quickly on track. Plenty of upgrade options from elise-shop and elise parts... up to the AP discs which are good but expensive

If you buy the AP uprated rotors go for the grooved ones. The drilled ones will crack quite quickly after track use.
