So I've been screwin around with my lotus for the last six years and this is what I've come up with to date....

http://www.lotussport.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t...

It's 615 whp and 422 ft tq.= 707 BHP on 100 octane gas to be exact and I can tell you there is more to be had but sense was beat into my thick skull to just let it be.
After all I'll never get to keep the hammer down for more than a few seconds in the real world.... wavey

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jOakcr92W0&fea...

To top it off it now has a dual fuel system using staged alcohol injection.. A completely separate alcohol fuel system is used when the need for higher octane is required. Both fuel systems run seamlessly to produce a nice safe.
560 whp and 396 ft tq.= 644BHP on 91 octane pump gas and a dash of alcohol....When needed..

Alcohol and driving do mix at times..drink

Insane power, to much for such roads...nice roads though, wich we had those biggrin
your car would also be fun for a fast run on the German autobahn, wonder how it would held with the heat build up?
Also how it would do around the Nurburgring, your welcome ;-)

most impressive,

have you got a run down of what has been done to achieve this & what stages you arrived at etc. Is the 5 speed box straight cut?

cheers

The gearbox is a Toyota E153 5 speed used in the 93-95 MR2 Turbo

Supercharger alone = 225whp
Supercharger with chargecooler = 320 whp
Turbo alone = 469 whp
Compound Charger setup = 615 whp

That's all I'm doing with this car since traction on 285 slicks is wanting.. 710bhp/tonne....

Frank, do you know this guy?

http://www.caral.co.uk/Lotus_111_Series.html

look around on his website he is and was deeply involved in Lotus and made a few fantastic cars you also know, like the 300RR and special one offs etc

he is also making a special car for a customer, a 1000bhp Lotus Exige with a lightweight V8, the H1 engine, see here>>

http://www.caral.co.uk/2.html

but he also make Exige/Elise in V6 and V8 say with LS3 if you want, with longer wheelbase by 305mm I believe.

for me personally (the H1 V8 is to expensive) I would like the LS3 engine and Getrag gearbox package in a Exige (long wheelbase)

Frank, you are completely mad (in the nicest way). biggrin

Seriously impressive result. You don't waste time - you get an idea and then just crack on with doing it. I'll bet you are glad you got rid of the original gearbox - that wouldn't have lasted 5 seconds with your current setup!

I gotta since I'm becoming the crazy old guy.

I've seen the Caral site before and think the VX S Sport looks cool and for less than $1,000,000.00 you get a redesigned interior and not the crap Lotus plastic...

But I haven't seen an update on their site in the last few years so it says something about the lack of buyers for V8 transplants when you can buy a real supercar off the showroom floor...

Why not just modify what you have since none of these conversions see more than some track time for press photos...
The GT2 is seriously underpowered to be a real contender and just a rich mans toy.... Cool bodywork though.

Oh and why did Caral strech the white S2/S1 bd photo ? Do they know Hennessey ?

they did update the website a bit...
and why they stretch the white S1? because the install a proper engine longitudinal ;-)
also there V8 conversions on Lotus Elise chassis get 305mm longer wheelbase so it is more stable and the engine can be mounted longitudinal like a proper sportscar ;-) bow
its not putting a SC and a turbo on it, no, they do the big thing but for a relative small price, the 2 blue cars (old models) do not justice his work.

You missed my point, the white S1/S2car that is a very old photo that is photochoped to apear wider, longer...Totally distorted..
Not to mention the crap wheel offsets on the rear... Do these guys just go to the local breaker for parts ?

Now what happened to the RSW Exige with the twin turbo V6 ?

don't know, its a nice car but expensive...so you won't see the RSW much around I guess.
maybe in the race world?

ah, found one

story said:
The engine is just awesome, the Sadev sequential gearbox is superb, the change is paddle shift and the change is air operated...very nice flat shift with a good auto blip on the down change.

The noise of the supercharged V6 is sensational.....I only used around 7,000 rpm initially, the rev limit will be 10.500 rpm giving 520 bhp and gearing will give 202 mph at 10,200 rpm in top gear!

The engine weighs just 82k's and the whole car = 700k's
