I currently have an issue on my Elise S2 (K-series) where the idle speed remains high and fluctuates between 1500-1800 rpm.
I have followed some of the suggestions previously posted on the forum but to date have had no luck in curing the problem.
To date I have swapped the throttle position sensor over from a mates car, tried an alternative battery and carried out the reset procedure of turning the key prior to start position and moving throttle 3,5, 20 times !!!! all to no avail.
A mechanic has also tried cleaning the idle air control valve (IACV) again without any noticeable difference.
Not sure if its significant but if the short hose from the IACV to the throttle body is squeezed quite hard the idle speed does in fact drop to approx 1000rpm and appears less erratic.
Apart from possibly changing the IACV I am now at a loss as to my next move so any advise or suggestions are most welcome.

Thanks - Eos

Is the IACV actually working correctly? I cleaned and lubricated one to no avail once. It was just plain broken.

See my thread on IACV
Is it stepping at all? Has a wire broken?
