I am thinking to improve the sound of my Elise S (Toyota Engine) only daily use no track or race. I would prefer not too loud for long drive I might say "moderate sound"
I appreciate any advice please.
thanks

I have a Christopher Neill sport exhaust on mine and love it - not too loud but lots of nice little crackles and pops.

I've got a Larini Sport on mine but that *might* be a tad loud for what you need.
A 2bular 8"x22" would probably be the best solution for you smilehttp://2bular.com/

I don't know which is "best". However, my research found a lot of recommendations for the 2bular systems, mainly because of the build quality and nice noise without being intrusive in the cabin.

From further research, it became clear that, to get a performance advantage you need to go the whole hog and also fit a 4-2-1 manifold and Sports Cat, plus decent induction (I went for the TRD). The ECU is adaptive and adjusts without a re-map, although a re-map is an option.

The effect is significant - lovely sound (without being too noisy), much improved mid-range torque and power figures providing much crisper throttle response.

Expect to spend £1500+ for the full works. But, IMO, worth it.

My insurers were happy, with no additional premium.

I bought a Larini Sport for my Elise SC about a month ago - absolutely tranforms the car - We collected my 911 from a service and my girlfriend drove the 911 home ( with switchable sports exhaust ) with me in the Elise and we did a few "drivepasts" - she couldn't stop laughing - said it sounded like a Ferrari everytime I went past .
Absolutely love the sound and the overall feel of the car with it - buy one !

Sorry missed the point of your post - and "yes" if you drive at a steady 70-80 mph the sound isn't too intrusive, either with roof on or off !

I think the 2bular 8" GT3 exhaust is the best on the market for sound and no loss in performance..... Tested it so first hand expereance...

I had this 'dilemma' and went for a 2bular 7*22 - Jim's description on the website is spot on - It gives a lovely howl when provoked . . . .
