After nearly 4 years of ownership I am selling my Europa and moving on. I have really enjoyed owning the car and will be sad in many ways to see it go. Here are my thoughts on the pro's and con's:

Pro's
Very rare and always attracted positive attention
Great fuel economy
Reasonable Comfort
Excellent reliability

Con's
Not convertible
Standard Nav Head Unit

Not sure what I will be getting next but hopefully it will be something that can put a smile on my face like the Europa always did. This will be the first time in 8 years I am without a Lotus frown

Shame. What are you looking at to replace it with? I ditched the sat nav head unit in my Europa almost straight away.

That would be in the pro list for me.

I am not sure. This weekend I am looking at

2010 Impreza STI
2009 M3
2007 RS4 Avant

I need something with 5 seats for work. Boo! Will be interesting to see how much I am offered on a trade in.

Trade in?

I hope you have spoken to Hoffmans to see what they will offer you for it?

I will give Hoffmans a call and see what they say. Thanks for the advice!

Got the 2010 STI (was the cheapest of the bunch, only had 2.5k miles and good spec). I do miss the Europa but on the other hand I am really enjoying the Subaru.

I had it for sale in a variety of places at a price cheaper than any others on Auto Trader or Piston Heads but did not get 1 enquiry so I part ex'd it.

I sort of guessed, hence the question; tough time to be selling anything. Can you share the % differential between private sale and px for interest?

Watching the Greeks carefully; it could (read 'will', but I'm the eternal optimist) get worse before it gets better!

I'm always interested in buying a Europa or any Elise/Exige.

I can usually beat any trade offer as well smile

You did have at least one enquiry as your reply to me confirms.

"Thanks for your enquiry. Unfortunately someone has left a deposit and should be buying the car tomorrow morning. I will contact you if this does not happen.

Regards
Norgles"

Shame, I really wanted a good Europa but am happy with the Elise I bought instead.

No idea if it is a good one or not, but Murray Motors have had one for some time now.
