I was wondering what the prevailing view was of fitting the carbon mouildings used to prevent stone chip scratching.

I have a low miles S1 Elise which is almost untouched by modifications but with the usual stone chipped valence on the front clam shell. I was thinking of having the valence area resprayed, knowing that shortly afterwards the battle of the chips would start again. The alternative is to protect the va;enmce with a carbon moulding but was concerned that having done that it was a one way street which would make my beloved S1 less attractive to a prospective purchaser should I ever have to sell.

In my experience, if you cover the paint with something opaque, the paint around it will gradually fade and it'll be visible when you take it off again.

Something like Armour Fend is a better bet, and probably cheaper (although it's still pretty expensive).
