I am considering a Lotus Elise.

Which/what is the best forum for the Elise?

SELOC is pretty good. Worth using the search function once you are logged in to save on banter.

They hate bad spelling! Where you thinking of Elsie Tanner?

MrSimba, shame on you. You lose points for spelling and punctuation.

As noted above, seloc. Don't believe anyone that tells you we are critical on spelling.

It's "SELOC", for God's sake! It's an acronym, use BIG letters! As mentioned though, not at all critical on spelling, punctuation or grammar.

Well, if you're going to state the word is an acronym then there is no rule to insist on using capitals, or as you so childishly put it "BIG" letters. If you referred to it as an initialism then I would have no choice but to use BIG letters similar to those magnetic ones on my prison door.

Sorry Major, forgot to mention that seloc/Seloc/SELOC has the occasional pedant as well.

(Do you think we've scared him off Phil?)

Seloc is a really good source of information but I really do not like the clique of the regular members.

You regularly find that the "in" croud make "in" jokes, aggressively get on your back about DPM's etc etc. I am not a fan

He does appear to have gone silent...! Do you think he's gone to browse SELOC/Seloc/seloc? Or perhaps he's given up and bought an Audi TT, where owners will perhaps never castigate him for his spelling, grammar and use of little letters!

Ha.

I like it a lot - I didn't know anybody on there, and only found it by accident. I think most of the time you get out of it what you put in. People have always gone the extra mile to help me - including driving me around when they've never met me before, giving up their evenings and weekends to help fix my car, letting me park on their driveways, sending me tools - all without having met me, and without asking for anything in return. I can't think of many forums where that happens, and in turn I've tried my best to help others on there.

Sure, there are lots of silly "in" jokes, but it's easy to ignore it all and just treat it as a resource if that's what you want. Plus there are always lots of newcomers, it's usually easy to strike up friendships.

Still, I guess every forum won't suit everybody, I've seen plenty that I've never wanted to go back to again.

Try www.LotusSport.org it may be a little rough for the sensitive type but it's a real Lotus car forum...We've been there done that.

You'd be amazed at how many people might appreciate that: we no longer have to listen to you trying to justify your purchase of assorted Porkers, Nobles and Audi TTs (sorry TTRS).
Someone who only seems to appreciate straight line speed and the stopwatdch will never truly get Lotus.
Sorry Martin, but there's no need for sour grapes from a consistent stirrer on Seloc.

Tipper view above post - reason folk are on here is that they don't want to listen to the SELOC 'wisdom' - don't import it please smile
