Temperature issues

Hi all,
I'm having temperature problems with my 2004 111R at the moment.
Car comes up to temp (84-86 degrees) but then as I'm driving the temp drops. Motorway driving it sits around 78-80 although sometimes drops so low that the temp dissapears and of course I cannot use the 2nd cam.
Sitting in traffic the temp can get over 100.
Reading though a quick search on SELOC this could be an engine thermostat issue.
However I recently had the front clam resprayed (stone chips and repair of a small crack from a kind neighbours tow hook
) and have notcied this problem only since getting the car back. I have also found that the radio reception is shocking since getting the car back.
Could it be that when the front clam was replaced it has trapped or disconnected something underneath it ?? Sorry - I am a technical incompetent !
