My off-side front brake disc appears to have many ridges in it and also a lip on the edge indicating wear.

The other disc is as good as new, so it's not a normal wear issue (cars done 2400 miles).

Dealer seems to think the disc may have been stuck/rubbing on the pad but all 'appears to be working fine'.

I don't think it is, as after they looked at it I cleaned all the holes out and went for a 25 mile drive.
On my return all the disc holes were packed solid with dust again and the wheel was also completely covered.
(also got a slight squealing from that side but again, the dealer says it's normal for the Pagid (?) pads - it didn't do it for a week after I picked the car up...)

Any ideas as to where I go from here?

Cheers.

pictures would help...

if the disks have odd wear (side to side) than that would indicate a problem somewhere...

I think it would be hard to see from a picture.

It's more a feel thing - the ridges are very prominent but smooth as in not been scored.

The rear discs and the other front one are perfect with little dust created.

Of all the cars I've had with drilled discs, none of them have ever got clogged up within 20 -30 miles.
That's not normal is it, even for Pagids? (and if it is normal that would mean the other side is wrong!)

pictures would still help...

as for clogged holes, they do clog up on cars that use the brakes HARD (like racing) to do this on the road implies brake drag...

Here we go.
Pics are a bit blurry - sorry.

Offending disc -

Other disc (normal one)

The pictures don't do it justice.
It's so obviously ridged when you run your finger over it. (and very black)

and the pads? (as in comparative wear)

Pics of the pads just haven't come out good enough to see.

From what I can see, not much difference between the two.

Could it be that more force is being used on the offending disc from the pistons when I brake?

if that were the case, the car would be pulling to one side under brakes.... is it?

Doesn't appear to be, no.

I'll have to try and take it out again this week and double check that.

I think it's something that needs to be seen - I'm just not sure that the dealer is just fobbing me off rather than trying to get it replaced under warranty.
As it is, I guess they're the 'experts' and what they say, goes.
