so i messed up - S1 elise issue

I just tried to replace the cant rail brackets on my S1 elise (the little brackets which hold the roof bars onto the car) which are screwed into the roll over bar area - but didn't realise the bracket would be held in place on the other side by a nut.

So i undid the bolt and the nut fell inside the car... where can't reach it. So now I have no way of securing the new bracket to the car, just 2 holes - so i cant put my rails in place and therefore put my roof on...

Does that make sense?

So... I'm not that mechanically minded, does anyone have any ideas how to get of this little mess?

they are supposed to be captive nuts?

if yours have fallen, then they must have come un-welded fro the tabs on the roll hoop....

bad news is that it's just about impossible to get your hand to where they need to be, even with the read clam off.

at a pinch, you could get a steel riv-nut put in (from the front).
