Hi there

I have an investment property which has a garage which I intend to use to store one of my cars. The problem is, I don't drive the car frequently and the garage is in a block and has no mains power or light.

I was thinking of getting a solar charger to mount externally so that I can keep the car battery maintained while it is in storage. Does anyone have any experience of doing this and if so can you recommend a brand of charger that will not cook my battery!!

Any advice much appreciated

Regards

Keith

Hi,

Yeah, i used one for my VX220 over winter. The battery would go flat over a few weeks but Solar charger solved it.
Not tried it on my Elise yet.

I got the cheapest one i could on Ebay, Maplins also sell them.

Hope that helps.

I have one of these and when I go out I just fold it up and place it in front of the passenger foot brace. The battery in my europa is beefy enough not to be cooked, check the rating of your battery it should be the same and therefore OK
