I've just noticed that the car I've just bought only has about 3mm tread on the rears. (done 2200 miles)

I can't seem to find the tread depth from new - anyone help?

Is that sort of wear normal for these tyres and should the dealer ideally have replaced them before he sold me the car?

Cheers.

I think they only come with 5mm from new.
Some people get through them in as little as 3k miles hence many opting for AD08s or R1Rs for better wear/year round useability instead of 48s.

Ok thanks.

I think I'll change to the Toyos before winter/when these are worn, whichever comes first. (I think it'll be before winter smile )

Keep your tyre pressures lower than the handbook reccomendation otherwise the centres will wear much quicker than the edges.

Try 22F, 24R Cold.

I've just noticed that that's how they're wearing.

I'll take your advice and adjust them tomorrow, thanks.

Yes my A048 pressures were to book figure (29psi) all round when I got the car and the centres wore away quite quickly on the rears.

I lowered to roughly what has been suggested above when I had them replaced and they're lasting much longer (everyday usage and a Nurburgring trip last week which hardly affected them)
