Bugger that's cheap...

I'm thinking of letting my S1 RHD (60K blue standard) go and was hoping for increased interest from the states (now being 25yrs) but don't see anything... not even dealer adverts looking for cars... am i missing something ?

happy motoring

No nobody wants them laugh there's a small amount of USA interest but nothing major. I think it will be different for the S2 cars certainly when they can get the Toyota stuff there's an appetite for that in the States and the prices for the cars there are already very high.

We do seem to be in a bit of limbo at the the markets just so damped down at the moment there's no big excitement around any cars currently. Let's get Thursday out of the way and see how the markets react to a few weeks of Labour. Hopefully they learned what not to do from Liz Truss and take things steady get a bit of confidence back into the country!

I was looking at the S1 Elises for sale and some which seem a fairly reasonable price still haven't sold, some months, others feel like they've been for sale years.

I have no idea where the actual values are but the likes of Jon Seal and Will were in my experience around market price for traders. So that would give me comfort.

what? 30% over a car? I thought in NL our roberment are crazy (they are but hey)

but is it not so that when a car like that Lotus Elise RHD was already once in the UK on the road, you don't have to pay things again?

btw what does that 30% duty means? is that over the total cost of the car? if so then sad... like our Roberment (government) over here.

its really not simple, you need to pay somebody to submit the forms, that costs about a thousand and pay all the costs i put below.

then the fun starts with the dvla, even if it was originally registered here they want an original certificate of conformity - which takes time to obtain from any manufacturer, id imagine its very challenging from Lotus, then if you make a single mistake anywhere on the paperwork they only tell you 8 weeks later when it arrives back to you asking for corrections and a resubmission etc etc

Not an S1 (although I have one), but have got my S2 Exige for sale and had next to no interest in it. Hopefully things will pick up soon.

I sold my S2111s a couple of weeks ago - if the car is right and the price is aligned with the market they will sell.

I took a bit of a hit on what I paid almost 3 years ago but that's where the market is right now.

I have a similar car. I’d be interested in what it went for. I understand entirely if you don’t want to tell me. smile

I bet the miserable summer isn't helping. That Evora you have looks lovely but you'd end up with my 1.6 Elise stuck to your forecourt instead biggrin

unusually for me I had to wait on that one to get a buyer with no PX! I'm over burdening the neighbours with cars at the moment!
