I’m sitting here fuming, I thought I had to tell somebody who would understand.
My beloved white ‘72 scimitar. Has gone.
And what a fine engine. 3.1 stage 2 Burton rebuild. Big valves, fast road cam and Holley/Swaymar conversion. New GW exhaust manifold. Koni’s, nice Wolfrace and good chrome bumpers. Not a bad car.
It even had a full tank of juice !

It was on my brother driveway, as it was almost roadworthy again ; but I have just been laid off, with other things to pay for right now.

His wife had it towed away and scrapped, and didn’t tell me.

A bit of green algae on the car had made her driveway an apparent talking point for the neighbours…………

She won’t tell me who took it, but as she is Irish, I suspect some tinker. There are several in Liverpool.
In doing what most women like to do with brothers, divide and conquer: she has made an enemy for life. By flexing her muscles and winning a small domestic argument, she has used up all my good will.
Wives never realise, the value of in-laws. How we make their selfish lives run smoothly without them even noticing it, because brothers don’t make a big deal of it.
She looks at me smugly, knowing I am angry and that my brother is implicated by her actions.
If I could, I would to crack her in the teeth, hard !
The lesson of this is: always give your brothers wife a dig once a year, just in case she ever does this………..

What a tragic tale. The waste of a good car and great engine. Just because the stupid bint wanted to p/ss you off and not upset other stupid bint neighbours. Makes my p*ss boil.

You have my sympathy.

Thanks lads, this car also had an electric fuel pump for the holley carb ! Even a high pressure oil pump with an oil cooler ! Problem is I don't know where it went to, she won't say; and my brother is being weak on this one. So I can't offer any help with the pump, or positioning. I would have rather broke it myself than let it be weighed in. What can I do ? not a lot.

Good idea mate, but it’s family and stuff. ……….
I can think of a multitude of ways over the years to make her cry though..
Let’s see how my brother will like being diplomatic then. (He also has no love for old cars)
Like all Scimitars, it had spent time on and off the drive, in various states of green camouflage.
But we all know, these cars always shine through; sponge-soap, hot water and wax cures all, …………. but the neighbours don’t.
The most annoying thing is, the work on the engine was pretty much as far as you could go for an Essex, without going mad.
Any Capri, TVR or Scimi guy would know it was up there, even today, it costs £1000 for Burtonpower to do stage 2 heads alone.
All for maybe £30 at the scrappy….

But I suppose, only we know the worth of them.
I’ll bore you no more. Rant over ! Cheers lads.
