Hi all those of you that run the 1.8 turbo nissan engine, I have been told to use a fuel additive. Is this correct?

The SS1/SST/Sabre turbos used the CA18ET which is the slightly earlier 8v version of the DET but the answer is no. Std unleaded is fine but obviously super unleaded or V power will give more power and better detonation resistance if you are upping the boostwink

Apologies. the motor is the CA18ET running with the silvia box, and propshaft and then mated to a triumph 3.63 diff. With this set up the car is running at about 3700rpm at 90mph and i would like to reduce the revs, am i right in thinking that the ss1 runs with a 3.92 ratio? i could swap the 3.63 for a triumph 3.27 off the shelf, quickly and easily, any further suggestions as to help reduce the long distance cruising rpm?

yeah thats right the std SS diff is the ford 7" 3.92 although a common mod is to fit a ford 3.6 (LSD) which improves the geraing and obviously improves the cars cruising ability. 3.27 diff would give lower rpm at 90mph but may hinder the cars sporty accelertion a bit...
