Is it true that you an fit xj6 gear into the standred sim se5a rear axle?. If so would this give you a better top gear motorway speed
without changing the gear box, As i only have a three box. Stu

Yes, as long as you have the later 4HU derived axle. Easiest available Jag ratios are 2.88, 3.05, 3.31, 3.54. Std Scimitar is 3.31. You probably want 3.05 which will reduc your cruise rpm by about 10% and still leave yo with some accel performance.

Not really a job for the garage at home if you don't know what you are doing though.

You ought to be able to obtain an LSD in the process - most Jags have them.

All the bearings are the same regardless, but later Jags have a 'metric' build, with a fractionally different bolt circle on the crownwheel which means you cannot combine a late Jag CWP with an older Scimitar - or Jaguar - diff carrier assembly.
